HOSPITALS // PHYSICAL THERAPY REHAB

The hospital market is quite unique in that Physical Therapists have become accustom to using 'gait belts' as part of their rehabilitation for in-patient and out-patient rehab. Needless to say, we have listened to PT's and OT's across the country so we are addressing their recommendations with our new product line coming out in the first quarter or 2010.

The new product will be specific for Physical and Occupational Therapy rehab, both in-patient and out-patient. The new vest will be much like our current model, except that it will have a 2 inch ballistic nylon belt located over the Neoprene velcro closure around the torso area. The new design will also have additional nylon handles located horizontally on the gait belt to assist Therapists during the rehabilitation process. This updated design will allow therapists to protect the skin from bruising and skin tears, while utilizing the clavicle handles for ambulation (to reduce the risk of the common 'gait belt' slipping, either up or down, during ambulation).

It is our belief that once SDS Medical obtains Medicare reimbursement, the hospital market will embrace this long awaited solution for patient transfers.
