Allan Thomas, President of SDS Medical, working with manufacturers on the new line of SDS Transfer Vests which will launch first quarter 2010.

eveloped and researched for over 2 years, the SDS Transfer Vest is made of Neoprene to act as a padding agent to increase the comfort to the patient who often times are highly susceptible to soreness, bruising, skin tears, even broken ribs from a manual transfer. We applied an anti-microbial agent directly in the manufacturing of the Neoprene to address infection control issues. The handles have been strategically placed to allow the caregiver the ability to lift with ease while keeping the back straight to reduce the risk of injury during the transfer process. The reinforced webbing was specially designed to disperse the energy from pulling on the handles throughout the entire vest, while bringing added durability as well.

In response to feedback from Physical & Occupational Therapists, SDS Medical will introduce a new modified design to address rehabiliation for both in-patient and out-patient therapy in the first quarter of 2010. The new product will incorporate additional handles located at the trunk area, much like a gait belt, for therapists to use during rehabilitation.

SDS Medical's purpose is to provide innovative products that truly enhance the safety, dignity and security of both the patient and their caregivers.
